A Legal Chapter Comes to a Close
The 49-year-old rapper and designer, Kanye West, and his former personal assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, have reached an out-of-court settlement to resolve the civil lawsuit against the artist. According to court documents filed in a Los Angeles court on July 28, 2026, both parties agreed to an unconditional resolution on July 23.
Entertainment news outlet TMZ reported that the formal request to dismiss the case will be submitted within 45 days of that date. The financial terms and exact conditions of the agreement remain strictly confidential and have not been publicly disclosed. This settlement allows both sides to move forward and close a legal conflict that had been ongoing since 2024.
The Origin of the Working Relationship
The professional relationship began in July 2021, when West recruited Pisciotta during preparations for the launch of his fashion line Yeezy. The influencer accepted an annual salary of $1 million on the condition that she be available to the artist 24/7.
At the time, Pisciotta was earning a similar amount through the adult content platform OnlyFans. According to the original lawsuit, West asked her to delete her account to be more like God, promising to raise her salary to $2 million per year to compensate for the lost income—a raise that allegedly never materialized. After she became chief of staff, she was fired in October 2022.
Details of the Lawsuit and Legal Process
Filed in June 2024, the civil lawsuit included allegations of breach of contract, unpaid wages, wrongful termination, and a hostile work environment. Over the course of the proceedings, the complaint was amended several times to include serious claims of assault and sexual abuse.
In an amendment from July 2025, accusations of physical assault occurring in 2021 were detailed, including unwanted touching and demands to participate in sexual encounters. Additionally, it was alleged that the artist drugged her during a recording session also attended by producer Sean Diddy Combs.
West's Defense Position
West's legal team categorically denied all charges, calling them baseless claims and part of an extortion scheme. On social media, West had denied the accusations with derogatory comments toward Pisciotta. Civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom, who represented the plaintiff in a preliminary hearing in March 2025, praised her client's courage in facing the process.
Other Allegations Against the Artist
Pisciotta's case is not the only legal front West has faced over alleged misconduct. A woman identified as Jenn An also publicly accused West of a sexual assault incident in 2010, recently giving her testimony in a BBC interview. West also denied those allegations.
With this settlement, the civil litigation is headed toward a definitive close, offering a resolution to a case that has drawn international media attention. Both parties can now focus on their future projects away from the courtroom.
