Argentina's presidential secretary general, Karina Milei, will meet with provincial legislators from Buenos Aires this Monday, August 10, at the Casa Rosada. With an eye on the 2027 elections, the ruling party aims to align its ranks, coordinate the legislative agenda, and consolidate key alliances with the PRO party and other sectors to compete for the Buenos Aires governorship.

A Key Summit at the Casa Rosada

With the goal of strengthening its political structure ahead of next year's elections, Karina Milei, Secretary General of the Presidency, will lead a strategic summit this Monday, August 10, 2026 with Buenos Aires provincial lawmakers from La Libertad Avanza (LLA). The meeting, which will include the party's provincial president, Sebastián Pareja, will mark the beginning of a new phase of institutional and territorial coordination.

According to reports from outlets such as La Nueva and TN, the gathering will be split into two sessions: at 3:00 PM she will meet with provincial senators, and at 5:00 PM it will be the turn of deputies. The agenda includes a review of the first semester's work and planning of priority projects for the second half of the year, seeking perfect synchronization between the national government and the province.

Changes in the Deputies Bloc and New Headquarters

The summit will also serve to align structural changes that strengthen the political space. In the Chamber of Deputies, a change in bloc leadership is approaching: Agustín Romo, close to Santiago Caputo, would leave the presidency to become First Vice President of the Chamber. In his place, Juanes Osaba, from Pareja's inner circle, is projected to take over. This change could be finalized in the first session of the second semester, tentatively scheduled for August 20, 2026.

Additionally, the ruling party is preparing to inaugurate in August 2026 a new Buenos Aires operational headquarters in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires city, on Avenida Caseros at 500. The location is no coincidence: it is near Parque Lezama, the symbolic place where Javier Milei's first rallies were held, demonstrating the strong roots and historical value the party places on its origins.

The Grand Electoral Strategy for 2027

The main backdrop of the meeting is the optimistic and proactive preparation for the Buenos Aires province elections in 2027. LLA estimates that, through broad agreements with the PRO party, sectors of the Radical Civic Union (UCR), and neighborhood-based spaces, they could present competitive structures in around 70 municipalities, a figure far higher than the 25 districts where they believe they could compete alone.

As reported by El Día, Sebastián Pareja has already initiated talks with the president of the Buenos Aires PRO party, Cristian Ritondo, under the positive criterion that 'in each municipality, whoever polls best goes'. In this context of unity, Chief of Staff Diego Santilli is emerging as a key figure to compete for the governorship, bringing his high public profile and electoral track record in the district.

The ruling party is also seeking to bring in figures with high public recognition for strategic municipalities. A notable example is Bahía Blanca, where the possible candidacy for mayor of former basketball player and Olympic champion Pepe Sánchez is being evaluated, demonstrating openness to incorporating new talent that adds to the project.
