Quimsa Keeps Championship Hopes Alive

The National Basketball League Finals in Argentina continue with high drama. In an electric atmosphere at the Socios Fundadores Stadium in Comodoro Rivadavia, Quimsa from Santiago del Estero secured a crucial victory against Gimnasia, avoiding a sweep and forcing a fifth game in the championship series.

The team from Santiago del Estero, which finished first in the regular season, delivered a key performance to keep their championship dreams alive. The series now stands at 3-1 in favor of Gimnasia, who still holds three opportunities to close out the series.

Gimnasia's Path to Glory

The Patagonian team, coached by Pablo Favarel, started the series impressively. They won the first two games as visitors in Santiago del Estero with two convincing victories, showcasing defensive solidity and collective play that left their opponents without answers.

Game 3, played at home on Tuesday, also went to Gimnasia, putting the series at 3-0 and leaving the team just one victory from glory. However, the fourth point slipped away on a night where Quimsa showed their championship character.

Quimsa's Response

The Santiago del Estero team had their backs against the wall after losing the first three games, but found the strength to avoid the sweep. They needed a perfect performance and they achieved it.

Quimsa demonstrated why they were the best team of the regular season and will now seek to tie the series in Game 5, which will be played again in Comodoro Rivadavia. If successful, the finals will move to Santiago del Estero for a decisive sixth game.
