This innovative device, designed to increase transparency and bring viewers closer to the on-field action, captured unforgettable moments of Argentina's 2-1 victory over England in the 2026 World Cup semifinals.
The referee wearing the camera was American official Ismail Elfath. Through his lens, we relive the intensity of the match from the very center of the pitch. The compilation begins with the traditional coin toss, where captains Lionel Messi and Harry Kane exchange pennants face to face – a gesture of respect before the ball started rolling.
It is a compact camera attached to the referee's chest. It records plays from the official's exact perspective, offering an immersive and unprecedented angle for viewers around the globe.
The atmosphere quickly shifted after kickoff. The video captures an uncalled foul on Messi, which led to a strong push from Enzo Fernández in retaliation. Elfath immediately intervened, warning Leandro Paredes with a firm: 'Stop, stop!'. Later, Nicolás Tagliafico complained about a push from Rogers, while Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo himself called for a corner kick that the referee dismissed. The footage also shows a yellow card to Lisandro Martínez at the 42nd minute for pulling Rogers' shirt.
