For international context, the Policía Bonaerense is the police force of the Province of Buenos Aires, the most populous and largest province in Argentina, surrounding the autonomous city of Buenos Aires. On July 13, 2026, the provincial government announced a staggered 7% salary increase for these officers. The announcement was made during a press conference by the Minister of Government, Carlos Bianco, and the Minister of Economy, Pablo López.
The increase will be applied in two stages: a 5% increase with July salaries and an additional 2% in August, calculated based on the wages received in June. Additionally, family allowances (a supplementary benefit for workers with children) for this sector were increased by 30%.

Minister Pablo López highlighted the province's effort during a time of national difficulties. He stated: "Revenue collection channels are falling, economic activity is collapsing, consumption is decreasing, and family debt is at record levels."
Despite this challenging outlook, the official considered the provincial effort to sustain workers' purchasing power amid the crisis as "doubly meritorious."
The increase for the security forces aligns with the collective bargaining agreement previously reached with teachers and workers under Ley 10.430 (the main legal framework regulating public administration employees in the Province of Buenos Aires). For teachers, a full-time grade school teacher with 10 years of seniority is projected to receive a take-home pay of $2,037,149 ARS in August, following the 5% July and 2% August increments.
