The worlds of digital entertainment and independent cinema are in shock following a collision between two helicopters on the morning of June 14, 2026. The crash occurred in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The incident, logged at 8:59 AM local time, resulted in a total of six fatalities.
Among the victims was Gaspar 'Gaspi' Prim, a 23-year-old Argentine YouTuber with nearly 3 million subscribers, known for his engaging street interviews. He was accompanied by Argentine director Lucas Vignale (28), recognized for his film 'El tren fluvial' presented at the Berlin Festival, and American musician Oliver Tree. The other victims included Brazilian producer Lucas Brito Chaves and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.
The Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) of Brazil has launched an inquiry. Reports indicate that one aircraft, a Bell 206B (registration PP-MAC), had been fined by ANAC in July 2025 for documentation issues. The other was an Airbus H125 (PR-DJJ). The crash caused one helicopter to fall onto a BYD car dealership, destroying roughly 20 vehicles. Emergency services responded with 45 firefighters and 15 vehicles.
The news devastated the influencer community. Juli Savioli, Gaspi's former partner (who dated him between 2022 and 2023), took to Instagram to express her grief, remembering their public history at events like the Argentina Game Show.
"I have no words, I can't find them. I'm struggling to think this is real. I have pain, pressure, and emptiness in my chest. I only know I will keep you in my heart. I don't think I'll ever be able to process this. I will turn you into my engine."
Before official confirmation, Savioli had expressed confusion and disbelief in her stories, asking followers for information regarding the tragedy.
