On Monday July 27, 2026, the majestic Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires hosted the first edition of the Pinti Awards, organized by the Argentine Association of Theater and Musical Entrepreneurs (AADET). The ceremony, broadcast on channel eltrece and masterfully hosted by Agustín Aristarán, aimed to recognize artistic, technical, and production excellence along the famous Avenida Corrientes—the Broadway of Argentina—and its surrounding theater district.
The musical 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' was one of the night’s biggest stars, winning Best Musical, Best Actor (Rada Aristarán), Best Direction (Ariel Del Mastro and Marcelo Caballero), and the award for Highest Attendance Musical. Meanwhile, 'Rocky' took home Best Drama/Comedy by Attendance, Best Production (Preludio and RGB Entertainment), and Best Lighting, Sound, and/or Original Music Design.
The audience voted overwhelmingly, choosing 'Annie' as the People’s Favorite. In the Best Comedy category, the award went to 'A Shitty Christmas' (Una Navidad de mierda), while Best Drama or Dramatic Comedy was awarded to 'The Daughters' (Las Hijas), directed by Adrián Suar. The best one-person show was 'Suavecita'.
Emotion filled the Colón during the lifetime achievement recognitions. Carlos Rottemberg was honored for his theater production career, celebrating 50 years, over a thousand shows produced, and 22 million spectators. Moria Casán received the award for female theater acting career, presented by Jorge Marrale, recalling her early days on stage and thanking her health. Guillermo Francella, introduced by Adrián Suar, received the male career award, thanking the public for allowing him to 'enter their homes' throughout his life.
The awards’ name was no coincidence: a heartfelt tribute was paid to Enrique Pinti, a central figure in Argentine theater, and to Luis Brandoni, whom Aristarán introduced by saying 'artists always remain'.
The ceremony was emotional but not without a small moment of tension. While accepting the Best Comedy award for 'A Shitty Christmas', part of the cast joked about recent comments by Alejandro Fantino, who had suggested that actor Tomás Fonzi should 'drive an Uber' due to lack of work in the arts. Alejo García Pintos looked into the camera and said: 'How ugly it is to be sent to drive an Uber.' Verónica Llinás, with a humorous tone, closed the topic by saying: 'I want to thank Tomás Fonzi, who left the Uber to come here.'
Before the ceremony, the red carpet was hosted by journalists Sofía Kotler and Florencia Ferrero. Major figures walked the carpet, including Adrián Suar and Rocío Robles, Moria Casán and Pato Galmarini, Leticia Brédice, Nico Vázquez and Dai Fernández, Lizy Tagliani, Gonzalo Heredia and Brenda Gandini, among others, showing off their stunning looks for the cameras.
