The return of the hit talk show PH, Podemos Hablar (Can We Talk) to the Argentine network Telefe, hosted by Andy Kusnetzoff, brought deeply moving stories. In its August 9, 2026 broadcast, Carolina Pampita Ardohain shared unprecedented details about the most complex moments of her personal life, far from the glamour and media exposure that established her as a successful figure in Latin America.
The Hardships of Pregnancy with Blanca
The model and TV host reviewed a period of deep economic crisis she faced almost 20 years ago while expecting her first daughter, Blanca, from her relationship with Chilean actor Benjamín Vicuña. Pampita explained that this situation unfolded after her separation from Martín Barrantes, which led her to move to Chile.
When I separated, I moved to Chile and got pregnant. I didn't have a cent. My accountant lent me money to pay taxes. I had zero pesos in my account.
The anguish of going through her first pregnancy without resources marked her deeply. Pampita recalled that she couldn't even afford basic items for her baby's arrival and had to ask her closest circle for help.
The Unconditional Support of the Vicuña Family
One of the memories that most moved the audience was when she recounted having to ask Benjamín Vicuña to buy her bras. She also highlighted the fundamental role the actor's family played in welcoming Blanca, who tragically passed away on September 8, 2012, at the age of 6.
His family gifted me the stroller, the crib, and baby clothes from cousins. My first daughter had everything inherited. I would walk past shop windows and couldn't buy anything. It was all second-hand.
Although Blanca had everything she needed, for Pampita it was a painful period due to her desire to personally choose and buy belongings for her firstborn.
Early Days in Buenos Aires: Trains, Soups, and Effort
In the same program, where she shared the panel with local celebrities La Joaqui, Martín Cirio, Yanina Latorre, and Diego Leuco, Pampita also remembered her early years in Buenos Aires. Back then, newly arrived in the big city, she survived on coins to ride the train to her job at a clothing outlet in Martínez, a neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires.
Her daily diet during that first month, until she got her first paycheck, consisted of dehydrated instant soups accompanied by water crackers (a staple, inexpensive food in Argentina). For the host, these precarious experiences served as a life lesson and an example of resilience.
