Authorities are currently working to clarify the death of Ariana Yael González, aged 36, who was found lifeless on Monday, July 14, 2026, in an apartment located on Brandsen Street at the 3500 block, in the neighborhood of Lomas del Mirador (Greater Buenos Aires). This woman was a fundamental piece in the case investigating the murder of businessman Fernando 'Lechuga' Pérez Algaba, whose dismembered remains were found in suitcases in a stream in Ingeniero Budge in 2023.
González had testified before the Oral Criminal Court No. 9 of Lomas de Zamora as the main witness. At the time of the crime, she lived in the house where the murder was committed and had been the partner of Maximiliano Pilepich, one of the three defendants sentenced to life imprisonment by the unanimous decision of a popular jury on July 6, 2026.
During the oral debate, González described Pilepich as a manipulator, a narcissist, and a sick person. She even shouted that she was not to blame for falling in love with a murderer, and also pointed out Nahuel Vargas and Matías Gil, the other two convicted for the homicide.
Prosecutor Adrián Arribas is in charge of the case, classified as 'investigation of causes of death'. The main hypothesis points to suicide, as she was found hanging with a rope from a window, but the eventual instigation or intervention of third parties has not been ruled out.
Although the three main defendants have already been convicted, the judicial case maintains other defendants pending ordinary trial. Among them are the manager Flavia Bomrad, the police commissioner Horacio Córdoba, Fernando Gastón Carrizo, and Luis Contreras, who will face the process in the same court, although there is no defined date yet.
