A High-Stakes Diplomatic and Commercial Tour

Argentine President Javier Milei has confirmed an intense international agenda for the coming weeks, aimed at boosting foreign trade and attracting investments to Argentina. According to Infobae, Milei emphasized that Argentina should have three times its current trade volume, noting that these tours work quite well to showcase the Argentine case to the world.

The Brazil Visit and Support for Flavio Bolsonaro

On July 25, 2026, the Argentine leader will travel to São Paulo, Brazil, to attend an event where Flavio Bolsonaro (son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro) is expected to be officially designated as a presidential candidate. This political move triggered reactions from the administration of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Brazil's General Secretary of the Presidency, Guilherme Boulos, expressed his rejection on the social network X, questioning the visit with unfavorable terms toward the Argentine president and suggesting his presence would actually cost votes for the opposition candidate.

Peru

On July 28, 2026, Milei will be in Peru to attend the inauguration of Keiko Fujimori as president.

Colombia and Ecuador

On August 7, 2026, he will accompany Abelardo de la Espriella in Colombia, and subsequently visit his counterpart Daniel Noboa in Ecuador.

Defending the RIGI and Super RIGI Investment Regimes

During his interview, the President reiterated his support for the investment systems known as RIGI (Large Investment Incentive Regime, a legal framework in Argentina designed to attract major foreign capital by offering tax and customs benefits) and the Super RIGI (aimed at investments of at least 1 billion US dollars). Milei highlighted that the Argentine provinces that adhered to these benefits are doing very well, although he criticized the administrations of Buenos Aires, Formosa, and La Rioja for not joining. He stated that for ideological reasons, those local governments would be condemning their own populations.
