NASA's ESCAPADE Mission Captures Stunning New Views of Earth and Moon En Route to Mars

From a distance of 584,600 kilometers, NASA's ESCAPADE spacecraft has snapped breathtaking images of Earth and the Moon, partially illuminated by the Sun. These photos aren't just beautiful—they're critical for calibrating the instruments that will study Martian auroras and thermal properties. The mission, launched in November 2025, is now in a parking orbit around Earth's Lagrange point 2, preparing for a gravity assist in fall 2026.
