NASA Launches Unprecedented Mission to Rescue Swift Telescope Before It Crashes to Earth
The US space agency has developed a robotic spacecraft called LINK that will intercept the orbiting observatory and raise its altitude to prevent atmospheric reentry. The telescope, with 22 years of operation, descended from 600 to 370 kilometers due to intensified solar activity.
