MSCI Keeps Argentina as Isolated Market Until 2027: A Blow to Financial Hopes
Global index provider MSCI has decided not to open a public consultation to reclassify Argentina, keeping it in the lowest category—Standalone Market—until at least 2027. Argentine stocks fell up to 4.4% on Wall Street, and country risk surged to 433 basis points, closing the door to an estimated USD 4.5 billion in potential institutional investments.
