New Hantavirus Variant Discovered in Argentina's Tierra del Fuego, Unrelated to Cruise Ship Outbreak
Argentina's leading infectious diseases institute has confirmed the first-ever detection of hantavirus in rodents in Tierra del Fuego province. Scientists identified a previously unknown viral variant, but crucially, it has no connection to the international MV Hondius cruise ship outbreak that sickened 13 people and claimed 3 lives.
