A massive magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit Venezuela's northern coast on June 24, 2026, preceded by a 7.2 foreshock just 39 seconds earlier. The epicenter was near San Felipe, Yaracuy state, approximately 200 kilometers from the capital Caracas. Authorities reported building collapses in the capital and deployed emergency teams.
