Paisaje costero patagónico con playa desierta y cielo nublado al atardecer, ambiente respetuoso y conmemorativo
The afternoon of Friday, June 13, 2026 became a day of mourning for a family from Chubut. A girl of only 5 years of age died after suffering a brutal dog attack while walking with her loved ones through the Magagna Tourist Complex, a seaside resort located near Rawson, the capital of Chubut province.
The Magagna Complex, also known as Playa Magagna (Magagna Beach), is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Patagonian region during the summer months. However, on this occasion, what was meant to be a day of recreation turned into a tragedy that shook the entire community.
The Magagna Complex is a popular seaside resort located just a few kilometers from Rawson. During the summer season, it receives hundreds of visitors who enjoy its beaches and recreational activities. The area includes residential zones and public spaces where families and tourists engage in outdoor activities.
Following the fatal incident, the Rawson Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía de Rawson) launched the corresponding investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the attack. Authorities are working to clarify whether the animal had a history of aggression, who it belonged to, and whether there was third-party responsibility in the event.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of Chubut reported that they are conducting the necessary forensic examinations and taking witness statements to reconstruct the events. The case has generated profound commotion in the province, sparking debates about responsible pet ownership and safety measures in public spaces.
Chubut Province is located in Argentine Patagonia, in the southern region of the country. Its capital, Rawson, is a small city known for its Welsh heritage and proximity to tourist attractions such as Peninsula Valdés, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for whale watching and marine wildlife.
