National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office No. 22, led by Eduardo Cubría, along with National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 40 of Paula González, achieved the detention of Anabela Sabrina Olmedo, a 33-year-old woman. The operation was carried out at her home in José C. Paz, a district in the province of Buenos Aires. The suspect had been captured on security cameras leaving the building where the victim lived.
The body of Daniel Antonio Osorio Peñaloza, 46, was discovered on June 8, 2026 in an apartment he owned, located at Díaz Vélez 5500, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Caballito. The discovery was made by a coworker who went to check on him after several days without a response.
Daniel Osorio Peñaloza served as general manager and alternate director of Gen Tech Argentina S.A., a dietary supplements and sports nutrition company. The company was founded by Martín Menem, current president of the Chamber of Deputies (Argentina's lower house of Congress), who distanced himself from management upon assuming his political role. Martín Menem is a prominent figure in Argentine politics and part of the well-known Menem political family.
The detainee, 33, has a previous record. In 2023, she had been accused of attempting to kill another woman by shooting a firearm, although Guarantees Court No. 2 dismissed those charges. Now, her role in the businessman's death is being investigated.
The autopsy determined that the cause of death was pulmonary and encephalic edema (fluid accumulation in the lungs and brain). Currently, toxicology results are awaited to determine if there were any substances in his system. Although there were no visible items missing from the scene, the justice system is investigating the hypothesis of a homicide and whether the suspect had the intention to rob.
Martín Menem posted a message on his social media account X (formerly Twitter), lamenting the loss of his friend and asking the press for prudence to not obstruct the investigation. The official clarified that he went to the scene only due to the emotional bond that united them.
