Argentina, renowned worldwide for its premium quality beef and legendary "asado" barbecue tradition, has achieved a historic milestone in its export sector. According to official data from PromArgentina (Argentina's Export Promotion Agency), the country exported 11,000 metric tons of beef to the United States in May 2026 alone.
Remarkably, this single-month volume equals the total amount shipped during the first eight months of 2025. Sales reached USD 86 million, representing a staggering 369% year-over-year growth, positioning beef as one of the primary drivers of Argentine exports to North America.

Argentine beef has consolidated as one of the three leading export products to the US market, alongside:
Argentina is the eighth-largest beef producer worldwide and home to vast grassland plains called "Las Pampas", where cattle are primarily grass-fed, resulting in leaner, more flavorful meat compared to grain-fed alternatives common in other regions.
This historic export surge adds to a positive context for Argentine agriculture, which in 2026 exported nearly USD 22 billion with a 17% growth, reclaiming its central role in the national economy.
The strong performance in the US market reflects the competitiveness of Argentine beef production and the successful opening of new strategic commercial destinations for the sector, reinforcing Argentina's reputation as a reliable supplier of premium protein to global markets.
