Details of the Route 7 Highway Crash

During the afternoon of Friday, July 10, 2026, a severe multi-vehicle crash disrupted traffic at kilometer 121 of the Route 7 Highway (Autovía 7), in the Buenos Aires province district of San Andrés de Giles. For those unfamiliar, Route 7 is one of the main highways connecting the province of Buenos Aires with the rest of the country.

The violent impact caused the Corsa to lose control, cross the central median, and invade the oncoming lane, where it collided head-on with a Fiat Strada pickup truck. After the impact, the Chevrolet Corsa overturned.

The Fatal Victims

Unfortunately, three of the occupants of the Corsa lost their lives at the scene. They were identified as a 12-year-old minor, a 19-year-old young man, and a 43-year-old man, all residents of Rafael Castillo, a neighborhood in the La Matanza district of Greater Buenos Aires.

Injuries and Rescue Efforts

The fourth passenger in the Corsa, a woman, was rescued by bystanders who were in the area before the arrival of emergency services. She was transported to the San Andrés de Giles Municipal Hospital with significant injuries.

The driver of the Fiat Strada suffered a severe head injury and was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. Meanwhile, the two individuals traveling in the Renault Sandero received assistance and were taken to the Carmen de Areco Municipal Hospital, as reported by Infociudad.
