On Sunday, July 27, 2026, Nicolás Cabré (46 years old) confirmed the death of his older brother, Duilio Cabré, at age 47. Through his Instagram stories, the actor shared a heartbreaking yet hopeful message, thanking his brother for the years they shared together.
“Duilito, I can't believe I'm writing this, but here I am, and with all the pain in the world I want to tell you that it was beautiful to have you by my side for these 46 years. I know you always did your best with what you had, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you rest in peace and meet all those you missed so much. Now it's my turn to miss you. I love you and I will never, ever forget you.”
According to various media reports, the Cabré brothers maintained an extremely close relationship. With only 1 year and 8 months age difference, Nicolás often said they did “absolutely everything together.” In a 2019 interview with legendary Argentine TV host Mirtha Legrand, the actor revealed that Duilio chose to stay out of the media spotlight, working as a taxi driver — a profession he inherited from their father, Norberto Cabré, who passed away in 2016.
The physical resemblance between the two was striking, something Nicolás lovingly highlighted on social media, calling his brother “a clone” in old photos from their youth. This closeness remained intact over the years, proving that sibling love is a fundamental pillar in life.
Following the sad news, an emotional photograph has resurfaced, now holding immeasurable value. According to the site Pronto, the last public image of the two brothers was taken at Nicolás Cabré's wedding to Rocío Pardo, celebrated in December 2025. In it, they are seen hugging, smiling, and enjoying one of the happiest moments of the actor's life.
Likewise, Infobae highlighted another notable picture from November 12, 2022, where Nicolás appeared alongside Duilio and a mutual friend, Guillermo Liniers, with the caption “Night of brothers and friends.”
The pain of this loss adds to a period of significant changes for the Cabré family, who in June 2025 bid farewell to the actor's mother, Cristina Birckenstaedt. Despite the hardships, family love remains a beacon of hope.
On the work front, according to the production of the play “Ni Media Palabra” (Not a Single Word) confirmed to La Nación, the Sunday July 26, 2026 performance was canceled so the artist could grieve in private.
