A 28-year-old man, identified as Joshua Kerry, faces charges for the brutal murder of Ann Widdecombe and the planning of terrorist attacks. The defendant, allegedly motivated by far-left ideology, reportedly stalked prominent Reform UK figures, including leader Nigel Farage.

The British judicial system faces one of the most shocking cases of recent political violence. Joshua Kerry, 28, is at the center of a case that combines an atrocious homicide with a terrorism agenda directed against key figures of the Reform UK party.

The victim, Ann Widdecombe, a former minister in Sir John Major's government and an emblematic figure of conservatism, was found dead in her home in Haytor, Devon. According to the prosecution, the 78-year-old woman was attacked while eating, being repeatedly struck in the head with a hammer.

The motive: Prosecutors argue that Kerry possessed a "far-left and/or anti-institutional mindset," manifesting a particular hostility toward the illegal immigrant deportation policies promoted by Reform UK.

The investigation revealed that this was not an isolated attack. Kerry reportedly compiled a blacklist with more than 100 names of politicians and public figures. Among them, leader Nigel Farage, whose residence in south London was the subject of online reconnaissance on April 19, 2025, and an attempted entry prior to Widdecombe's crime.
