Wildfire in Los Gallardos, Spain: Under Control After Burning 6,600 Hectares
The President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, announced that the forest fire declared on July 9 in Los Gallardos (Almería, Spain) is now under control. Sparked by a fallen high-voltage power pole, the fire left at least 13 dead, 23 missing, and 1,400 evacuated in a tragedy that has shocked Europe.
