Cristina Kirchner Takes Her Vialidad Conviction to the UN, Adds Lula’s Lawyers to Her Team
Argentina’s former president Cristina Kirchner has filed an individual complaint with the UN Human Rights Committee challenging her conviction in the Vialidad corruption case. In an open letter published on July 29, 2026, she claims she is a victim of structural machismo and political proscription. She has also brought in two high-profile international lawyers, including one who successfully defended Brazil’s Lula da Silva before the same UN body.
