Cantante joven en estudio de podcast con expresión emotiva y vulnerable, iluminación cálida, micrófonos profesionales, ambiente íntimo
María Becerra, one of Argentina's biggest pop stars known internationally for hits like "Qué Más Pues?" with J Balvin, made a moving revelation during a podcast recorded in Miami, sharing personal experiences she had kept private until now. The 26-year-old artist explained she suffered four pregnancy losses between 2023 and 2025, a process she described as the most challenging of her life.
Until now, the singer had publicly mentioned two lost pregnancies, but in this interview she revealed there were four failed attempts to become a mother with her partner, singer J Rei (an Argentine reggaeton artist), with whom she has been in a relationship since 2022.
The first episode occurred in 2023 and was an ectopic pregnancy, a serious medical condition where the embryo implants outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes. "I got pregnant, but not in the uterus, rather in another part of the body. It's a bad pregnancy, the baby cannot grow or be born there. It's wrongly placed and can never be carried to term because it explodes," Becerra explained in the podcast.
This condition caused a severe internal hemorrhage when a fallopian tube ruptured, requiring urgent medical attention. According to medical data, ectopic pregnancies occur in approximately 1 in 50 pregnancies and are one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the first trimester.
After the ectopic pregnancy, the singer suffered two miscarriages, equally painful experiences. However, it was the fourth episode, occurring in 2025, that brought her to the brink of death.
"The last one almost killed me," Becerra recounted. During that episode, the artist became unconscious and started convulsing. J Rei's quick reaction was decisive: he realized something was wrong and acted immediately, allowing doctors to intervene in time.
What doctors told her family: "We will do everything possible, but it is possible she may not survive." These words, spoken by the medical team, reflect the gravity of the moment.
Doctors were clear in their diagnosis: "I cannot have babies naturally. They already told me I can't, because it puts my life at risk," Becerra expressed. This medical conclusion comes after evaluating the risks each new pregnancy represents for her health.
However, the singer has not lost hope of forming a family. "We can have a family, but not naturally," she concluded, referring to the possibility of using assisted fertility treatments with constant medical monitoring. Available options include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy, procedures that could allow her to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother without compromising her life.
María Becerra's bravery in sharing her story helps bring visibility to a reality affecting millions of women. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 10-15% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and many cases go unreported due to the social stigma still surrounding the topic.
The artist continues her musical career with J Rei's unconditional support, who proved to be a fundamental pillar in her darkest moments. The couple maintains their plans to form a family, now exploring medical alternatives that guarantee the singer's safety.
