Mariela Prieto's participation in Gran Hermano Generación Dorada (Big Brother Golden Generation) continues to create buzz both inside and outside the house. In recent days, various incidents involving the contestant have sparked commentary on social media and entertainment shows, particularly regarding her closeness with fellow housemate Emanuel Di Gioia.
In this context, Claudio "El Turco" García decided to break his silence and clarify the current status of his relationship with the contestant. The former footballer confirmed that their romantic relationship ended several months before Prieto entered the reality show.
Gran Hermano is the Spanish-language version of the internationally famous Big Brother reality franchise. Generación Dorada (Golden Generation) is a special edition featuring older contestants, typically aged 40+, which has become extremely popular in Argentina. Contestants live together in a house under constant surveillance, with one person eliminated weekly based on public votes.

| December 2025 | Separation of Turco García and Mariela Prieto |
| 2026 | Mariela enters Big Brother Golden Generation |
| June 14, 2026 | Turco publicly confirms the separation |
The information was disclosed by journalist Karina Iavícoli on the program Infama (a popular Argentine celebrity news show, similar to Entertainment Tonight in format), who stated she had a direct conversation with García. According to her report, the former player explained that the separation occurred in December 2025, long before this season of the reality show began.
The clarification came after other television panelists addressed the topic and suggested versions about supposed discomfort from El Turco regarding certain images broadcast from the house. However, the former striker made it clear that the breakup was already a reality when Mariela began her participation in the program.
Beyond confirming the end of the relationship, García acknowledged that he continues to closely follow the program's development and that certain situations cause him concern. According to reports, one of the aspects that most caught his attention were some of Prieto's behaviors during theme parties organized by the production.
"During the theme party days, he doesn't recognize her", Iavícoli recounted while revealing part of the conversation she had with the former footballer.
"He's worried about the hate she's receiving", Iavícoli explained while sharing details of the feelings transmitted by the former footballer. El Turco fears that the negative backlash generated by certain images could emotionally affect Prieto when she leaves isolation and makes contact with everything being said about her on the outside.
In Argentine and Latin American social media culture, "hate" refers to the intense criticism, often including insults and cyberbullying, that public figures receive online. Reality show contestants frequently become targets of such behavior based on their actions on camera.
Their shared history is significant: they maintained a relationship for several years and share a child together, a bond that continues to exist beyond the separation. For this reason, García would not rule out having a pending conversation with her once her experience in the reality show ends.
Meanwhile, Mariela remains immersed in the competition without knowing the repercussions her moves inside the game generate. Outside, however, her personal situation has become one of the most discussed topics by the show's followers.
It also emerged that there were conflicts between Mariela and Tamara Paganini during rehearsals prior to entering the reality show, adding more intrigue to the development of this season of Big Brother Golden Generation.
Claudio García (born 1962) is a renowned former Argentine footballer who stood out as a forward for clubs like Racing Club and the Argentine national team. Popularly known as "El Turco" (The Turk) — a common nickname in Argentina given to people of Middle Eastern descent or simply as an affectionate term regardless of actual heritage — he became a media figure after his retirement from professional football. His relationship with Mariela Prieto lasted several years, and their son was born from that union. Racing Club, where he is considered a club legend, is one of Argentina's "Big Five" football clubs.
