The renowned radio and television host lost her life on Friday, June 26, 2026, when the car she was driving was struck by a Tren de la Costa train at a railway crossing in Martínez, San Isidro.
According to police sources, the accident occurred approximately between 7:20 PM and 7:25 PM at the railway crossing at Sáenz Peña and El Cano streets. For reasons still under investigation, the black Honda Civic driven by the journalist crossed with the barrier down and was hit by the train on the driver's side.
Police and firefighters worked at the scene to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. The case was assigned to the Martínez Prosecutor's Office (UFI).
Security cameras captured the exact moment of impact and are part of the investigation. According to witnesses, the barrier was functioning correctly and the train sounded its horn before the collision.
Carlos, one of the first neighbors to arrive at the scene, recounted the desperate moments after the impact in an interview with A24:
"I was inside and heard the impact. We ran to see what was happening, to see if we could help her. We couldn't do anything because the doors couldn't be opened, they were all jammed."
The witness explained that they initially did not identify the victim: "We thought it was a young person because she was wearing an Argentine National Team jersey and we couldn't see her face. We didn't know it was her."
Carlos also detailed that they tried to communicate with her without success: "We spoke to her, there was also a woman shouting and asking if she was okay and she never answered."
A police officer passing by the scene also tried to open the vehicle's doors but was unable to do so due to the deformation caused by the impact.
