Getting Grand Theft Auto VI for free will be possible, though the requirement is far from any conventional promotion. The Norwegian electronics chain Komplett has promised to give away a copy of Rockstar's new game to those who have a baby on the same day as its launch, November 19, 2026.
The initiative started with posters and social media posts playing with the nine months between the promotion and the game's release. The store suggested that those who “started the process” at that moment could end up receiving a very specific reward: a baby born on November 19, 2026, and a free copy of GTA 6.
It's important to clarify that Rockstar Games has nothing to do with this campaign. This is not an official studio promotion, nor a Norwegian public initiative, nor a Take-Two maneuver to boost birth rates among Vice City fans. It's simply a publicity stunt by a store that understands the cultural magnitude of the launch and has decided to insert itself into the global conversation.
GTA 6 has been functioning as more than just a pending release: it's a unit of time measurement in the industry, a deferred promise, commented on, leaked, and analyzed. In that context, any gesture linked to its release date gains immediate visibility.

The launch is scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Development investment exceeds USD 1 billion.
The protagonists will be Jason and Lucia, and the story will take place in Vice City, Leonida state. For those unfamiliar: Vice City is a fictional metropolis inspired by Miami, Florida, featured in several Grand Theft Auto titles since 2002. The Ultimate Edition will include exclusive vehicles like the Grotti Cheetah 1995 and Vapid Dominator Buggy 1967, special weapons, and unique locations like Rideout Customs and Sara's Unisex Salon.
Pre-orders began on June 25, 2026 with exclusive bonuses for digital purchases. So far, no PC version has been announced.
