Netflix continues betting on South Korean productions with "Notes from the Last Row", a miniseries blending psychological suspense, drama, and moral dilemmas, released on June 26, 2026. The story follows Heo Mun-oh, a Korean literature professor and failed novelist who, after the success of his first book, hasn't written again. His life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers that one of his students, the reserved Lee Kang, possesses an innate talent for writing.
Mun-oh decides to offer private lessons to help him refine his craft. However, with each session, the professor becomes increasingly obsessed with his student's work. What begins as a mentor-disciple relationship transforms into something much darker: Mun-oh discovers that Lee Kang draws inspiration from observations made at the home of Kim Su-hun, the successful writer who was his university rival and harshly criticized his only novel.
The series explores moral dilemmas, intellectual obsessions, and the thin line between art and reality, raising questions about the boundaries between observing, writing, and exposing others' intimacy.
