As part of the 453rd anniversary of the founding of Córdoba, Argentina's second most populous city, the 34th edition of the Jerónimo Awards was held. Mayor Daniel Passerini led the gala on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the historic Teatro Comedia, which hosted the event for the fourth consecutive year following its beautiful reconstruction and restoration.
The evening began with a performance by the Municipal Symphony Orchestra, celebrating its 70th anniversary, alongside soprano Rosario Goldaracena, who performed the Argentine National Anthem. A beautiful and sustainable detail of this edition is that the statuettes were crafted by the Municipal School of Circular Economy using recycled materials.
Local residents chose the Sullai Day Center among five nominated organizations through a popular vote. This institution was born thanks to a mother's initiative who sought to meet the needs of her daughter, born with deafblindness due to congenital rubella. (Deafblindness is a unique disability resulting from the combination of vision and hearing loss, creating special needs for communication and environmental understanding).
Today, Sullai is a benchmark in supporting people with multiple disabilities and their families. They promote inclusion, the development of autonomy, and a better quality of life from a perspective centered on respecting the rights of each individual, offering support and learning spaces.
The other nominees who also left their mark on the community were: Asociación Apadim, Fundación Una Puerta, Fundación Corazones de Luz, and the Murciano Center of Córdoba.
A jury selected 11 personalities and institutions that strengthen the Córdoba community daily and leave an indelible mark on society. The winners of the 2026 Jerónimo Award were:
The ceremony also paid tribute to those Cordobesans who are no longer physically present but whose legacy lives on in the city. The In Memoriam awards were presented to:
