Alfajores Baltazar S.A., commercially known as Alfa Pampa, formally began its preventive bankruptcy process on June 25, 2026 before the Commercial Court No. 27, overseen by Judge María Virginia Villarroel. The company, founded in 2011 with an initial investment of 60,000 US dollars, currently accumulates a debt exceeding 1 billion Argentine pesos (ARS).
The firm's economic situation is reflected in its numbers: sales fell by 30%, dropping from 3,646 million ARS in 2024 to 2,545 million ARS in 2025. This resulted in an accounting loss of 1,088.5 million ARS.
Currently, the brand's production capacity has been reduced to 750,000 alfajores per month. The company has a plant of 27 workers, whose future is one of the main priorities within the judicial reorganization process.
In Argentina, a preventive bankruptcy is a legal tool provided by the Bankruptcy Law that allows companies in financial crisis to reorganize their debts and avoid liquidation. It enables them to negotiate a payment plan with creditors and continue operating.
Alfa Pampa's creditors have until October 9, 2026 to file their formal claims. Subsequently, the bankruptcy trustee's reports are scheduled for November 25, 2026 and February 2027. This timeframe will give the company a margin to structure a viable payment proposal and keep this iconic brand alive.
