Portada oficial de videojuego estilo collage tropical con dos protagonistas y ciudad de Miami de fondo
Rockstar Games officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will begin on June 25, 2026 at digital stores and selected retailers. The launch is scheduled for November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The announcement came after more than a year without news about the game, generating massive anticipation among fans of the franchise. Rockstar Games posted the information at unusual hours, which triggered alarms among followers before the official confirmation.
The official artwork shows protagonists Jason and Lucía in the classic vignette style of the saga, surrounded by images that reinforce the identity of Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida (inspired by Florida, USA).
The warm colors and references to the tropical environment anticipate the tone of the adventure: an organic metropolis with beaches, moving piers, and nightlife saturated with neon lights.
The plot centers on Lucía, who ended up in prison in Leonida after protecting her family. Upon regaining her freedom, she seeks a better future for her mother and crosses paths with Jason, a former military member linked to drug trafficking in Vice City.
Official descriptions suggest a toxic and complex relationship between both characters, directly inspired by the legendary robbers who traveled across the United States in the 1930s.
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Main City | Vice City (inspired by Miami) |
| Complete State | Leonida (fictional version of Florida) |
| Additional Zones | Rural areas, mangroves, dangerous jungles |
| Game Model | Possible seasonal expansion |
Current technology allows for a more organic experience than the PlayStation 2 era, when Vice City was the protagonist with Tommy Vercetti. The complete map spans from urban zones to rural areas, mangroves, and dangerous jungles.
There are rumors that the scenario will grow seasonally, adding new sections and missions under a games-as-a-service model, similar to what was implemented in GTA Online.
Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 190 million copies since its launch in 2013, becoming one of the most successful entertainment products in history. GTA VI represents one of the most anticipated launches in the industry.
Rockstar Games also recently launched a GTA Online update titled The Next Big Score, keeping the community active while waiting for the new title.
