On June 22, 2026, Federal Judge Luis Armella ordered a series of raids on properties linked to Jésica Cirio, a famous Argentine model and media personality. The operations took place in Palermo (an upscale neighborhood in Buenos Aires known for its nightlife and luxury real estate) and Banfield (a residential suburb south of the capital).
These raids are part of a broader investigation into extortion and money laundering involving Martín Insaurralde, a former government official. The findings could significantly complicate the legal situation for those involved.
In the Palermo property, investigators discovered significant evidence:
Trombino is a known figure in the business sector, supplying goods to the state, which adds a layer of complexity regarding the source of the funds.
In Banfield, the operation focused on different targets. Authorities seized the mobile phone of Elías Piccirillo, who is currently detained. Piccirillo is implicated in a separate but related case involving the planting of drugs on Francisco Hauque.
This connection suggests a coordinated network of illegal operations reaching high levels of influence.
The investigation began in September 2023 after viral videos surfaced showing Sofía Clerici (another media figure) on a luxury yacht and displaying large amounts of US dollars at 'Fincas de San Vicente'. This triggered public scrutiny over the wealth of the circle surrounding Insaurralde.
Jésica Cirio filed an extortion complaint (Case CCC 36588/2025), which paradoxically led investigators to her own door, resulting in these recent raids.
Although not yet summoned for questioning, the data on Martín Insaurralde is stark:
| Category | Data |
|---|---|
| Trips Abroad | More than 75 trips |
| Travel Expenses | USD 71,280.40 |
| Marbella Trip | €41,087.65 + USD 8,189.30 |
| Declared Assets (2011-2021) | $8,620,967 ARS |
The discrepancy between declared assets and luxury spending is a focal point for the prosecution. Politician Graciela Ocaña has publicly criticized the judicial delays, demanding swifter action against Insaurralde.
