The 100% Lucha community is in mourning once again. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Sergio Aldo Carelli, known to millions as Gorutta Jones, passed away at 52 years old. The news was confirmed by his former co-star and close friend Vicente Viloni, who shared an emotional tribute on social media.
What makes this loss even more heartbreaking is that it occurred just four days after the death of Pablo Más Albert, better known as Teniente Murphy, who passed away on June 21, 2026 at 57 years old. A truly dark week for fans of the show that defined an entire generation of Argentine television.
100% Lucha was an Argentine wrestling entertainment program that aired on Telefe (one of Argentina's major television networks) from 2006 to 2010. The show was created by Eduardo Husni and hosted by Leo Montero, combining theatrical wrestling with colorful characters, dramatic storylines, and family-friendly humor.
Think of it as Argentina's answer to WWE, but with a uniquely Latin American flavor. The show became a cultural phenomenon, filling arenas like the legendary Luna Park stadium in Buenos Aires and capturing the hearts of children and adults alike. Wrestlers adopted outlandish personas, complete with masks, costumes, and signature moves.
The program launched the careers of many entertainers who became household names in Argentina, including Vicente Viloni, Hip Hop Man, McFloyd, and of course, Gorutta Jones and Teniente Murphy.

Despite being portrayed as a villain character, audiences adored him. His unforgettable moment at Luna Park remains legendary: "Climbing to the second rope and hearing 12,000 people chanting my name... That was an unforgettable dream."
Carelli had been fighting a severe sciatic nerve injury, complicated by problems with his spine, hips, and intervertebral discs.
In March 2025, from his hospital bed at Hospital Pirovano (a public hospital in Buenos Aires), he gave an interview to Teleshow describing his ordeal:
"There are days when I can't handle the pain anymore. I'm afraid they'll say there's nothing they can do. That I'll have to live with this for the rest of my life."
Doctors couldn't operate due to the risk of quadriplegia. Unable to work and with his career as a taxi driver cut short, his financial situation became extremely precarious.
Following his passing, Vicente Viloni launched a solidarity campaign to help the family cover funeral expenses. Donations can be made using the alias "Facu.Carelli" (a common payment method in Argentina through apps like Mercado Pago), registered under the name Facundo Carelli (Sergio's son).
"On behalf of his family and mine, we thank everyone who helped financially and with blood donations. Thank you all in the name of the great Gorutta," Viloni posted on social media.
Daniel Garcilazo (known as Hip Hop Man), who alongside Viloni had organized a solidarity campaign during Carelli's hospitalization, also shared a farewell message: "That day we cried together, today it's my turn to cry for you, dear friend. I will carry you always in my heart, until we meet again."
Gorutta Jones became one of the most beloved characters from 100% Lucha, a show that brought joy and entertainment to millions of Argentine families. Though he played a villain role, audiences embraced him wholeheartedly.
His championship victory over McFloyd and his acquisition of the prestigious Bastón Luxor (a symbolic trophy within the show) remain iconic moments in Argentine pop culture.
The passing of both Gorutta Jones and Teniente Murphy in the same week has left fans heartbroken, but their legacy will live on in the memories of those who grew up watching them every week on television.
