The National Weather Service (Servicio Meteorológico Nacional - SMN) has issued a yellow alert for the province of Neuquén for this Wednesday, July 1, 2026. This alert is due to a combination of strong winds and significant snowfall that will affect different areas of this beautiful Patagonian region.
Neuquén is located in northern Patagonia, approximately 1,200 km southwest of Buenos Aires. It's famous for its stunning landscapes, vineyards, and outdoor activities, making this weather alert particularly relevant for tourists planning to visit the area.
Snowfall of varying intensity is expected with accumulations between 10 and 15 centimeters (4-6 inches), potentially exceeding these amounts in some localized areas. There is also the possibility of precipitation in the form of rain or sleet in lower elevation areas.
For international visitors: This creates excellent conditions for winter sports in nearby ski resorts, but travel may be challenging on mountain roads.
