The wedding of the year in the United States had a touch of comedy and a lot of affection thanks to the presence of the New York actor as the officiant.
On the evening of Friday, July 3, 2026, the Madison Square Garden arena in the heart of Manhattan was transformed into the stage for what many consider the American 'royal wedding.' Singer Taylor Swift and National Football League (NFL) star Travis Kelce exchanged vows in a private and personal ceremony surrounded by approximately 1,000 guests.
The event was confirmed through a statement issued by Swift's publicists, revealing that the high-fashion house Dior was responsible for dressing the newlyweds. On the stadium's outdoor screens, a bold 'JUST&T MARRIED' could be read. However, the detail that most surprised the public was the choice of officiant: actor and comedian Adam Sandler.
The bond between Sandler and Kelce was born on a movie set. Kelce had a cameo in the film Happy Gilmore 2, released in 2025, starring and produced by Sandler. In an interview in July 2025, Sandler mentioned: Travis is such a kind and nice guy, and hilarious. He is like the guys I grew up with.

In November 2023, the singer changed the lyrics to the song Karma during her show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, sealing the start of their relationship. The engagement was officially announced in August 2025 with the song So High School.
