Telefe—one of Argentina's leading television networks—is in the preliminary stages of preparing the return of its highly successful cooking reality show. While the local version of Big Brother (Gran Hermano) is planned to run for several more months, production has time to define the cast. Meanwhile, Wanda Nara, the show's host and a major media personality in Argentina (known internationally as the wife of footballer Mauro Icardi), already has key names on the table and an open credit to suggest participants.
According to prominent entertainment journalist Ángel de Brito on his show 'LAM' on July 11, 2026, the host specifically requested to add renowned entertainment reporter Laura Ubfal. Ubfal, a voice that often defends Wanda in the media and is currently a panelist on the Argentine Big Brother, was surprised by the proposal live on air.
Her inclusion would promise a sharp and analytical observer profile, different from the usual participants who prioritize charisma. It would be her first experience as a contestant in a reality show of this style.
Another name generating great expectation is Wanda's mother, Nora Colosimo. On the show 'Sálvese Quien Pueda', host Martín Salwe directly stated that she would be 'officially summoned' to the reality show. Her elegant and reserved profile would contrast with the fast pace of the format, adding a rarely seen level of intimacy to the program and creating a fascinating mother-daughter dynamic.
Not all of the media personality's requests prosper. Wanda wanted to add Juan Carlos Icardi (father of Mauro Icardi), but the project was dismissed due to Icardi's own refusal. There was also an attempt to add Argentine Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto, along with speculation about a possible crisis due to the departure of the star judges. However, production advances with optimism, focused on assembling a cast that makes headlines.
The network's motivation is to repeat the winning formula of 2025, the year the edition crowned Ian Lucas as champion, after defeating Sofía Gonet in the final. With Wanda Nara at the helm of the format—who already knows the dynamics from her time on the Italian version—and a group of participants from different fields generating great chemistry inside and outside the cameras, the upcoming season promises to be a television success full of surprises and great challenges.
