Sources indicate that on July 14, 2026, President Javier Milei gathered the political committee of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) at the Casa Rosada —the iconic seat of the Argentine government in Buenos Aires— to define legislative priorities for the coming months. The meeting, held in an optimistic climate following positive economic indicators, was attended by key government figures such as Karina Milei, Cabinet Chief Diego Santilli, Economy Minister Luis Caputo, President of the Chamber of Deputies Martín Menem, and Patricia Bullrich.
One of the central points of the agenda is the reform of the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) Charter, which could be submitted to Congress in August. The initiative, previously explained by authorities like Federico Sturzenegger and Pablo Quirno, aims to replace the current multiple objectives with a single one: preserving the value of the currency. It also plans to prohibit printing money to finance the fiscal deficit and eliminate non-transferable letters.
The economic scenario supports the ruling party's expectations. June inflation in CABA (Buenos Aires City) reportedly stood at 1.8%, while the country risk remains near 402 points. Additionally, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects a 3.5% growth for Argentina. In this context, the government is preparing to host Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director, on July 27, 2026. Her agenda could include a meeting with Milei, a conference at the Ministry of Economy, and a visit to Vaca Muerta, Argentina's massive shale gas and oil formation.
With a horizon of exchange rate stability, where the BCRA reportedly has a shield of 20 billion dollars to keep the dollar exchange rate near $1,515 ARS, the government is moving steadily toward its goals looking ahead to 2027.
