The Government's president, Pedro Sánchez, along with Vice President María Jesús Montero, marked the formal start of the electoral pre-campaign in Dos Hermanas, Seville. The event was not just a launch act, but a rhetorical battlefield where the leader made his priorities and his adversaries clear.
Sánchez used a combative tone to point to the PP and Vox, accusing them of trying to discourage citizen participation at the polls. "They are afraid", the leader affirmed, asserting that while empty ballot boxes favor those who "pull the strings", full ballot boxes are the ground where the people win.
During his speech, the general secretary of the PSOE resorted to the fable of "Pedro and the wolf" to personify the political threat, sentencing that, in this scenario, "the wolf is them". Likewise, he launched harsh criticisms regarding the questioning of the transparency of the elections and the attacks towards Judge Biedma.
On the social level, the president paid tribute to Maricarmen Abascal, the elderly evicted woman who passed away this week, ensuring that he will honor her "example of life".
For her part, María Jesús Montero showed optimism about the results and backed the general strike, highlighting the following points:
- The conviction that the "social majority" of the country will prevail in the next general elections.
- Firm support for social and labor protection measures.
