Allanamiento policial nocturno a residencia de lujo en Buenos Aires, con iluminación de emergencia, vehículos oficiales y agentes de gendarmería ingresando a la propiedad. Ambiente tenso y misterioso.
What began with viral videos showing thousands of dollars in cash ended this Sunday with coordinated raids, surprising discoveries, and an increasingly complex legal case. Federal Judge Luis Armella from Lomas de Zamora ordered the National Gendarmerie to execute search warrants at properties connected to Jésica Cirio and her former husband, Elías Piccirillo.
The operation targeted two key locations in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area:
• Large amounts of US dollars in cash
• Narcotics (substances pending identification)
• Registered firearms under Nicolás Trombino (Cirio's current boyfriend)
• Only the businessman's mobile phone was recovered
• No additional devices of interest to the investigation
Jésica Cirio is one of Argentina's most recognizable models and television personalities, known for her work on popular entertainment programs. She was previously married to Elías Piccirillo, a businessman now facing separate legal troubles.
Martín Insaurralde is a former politician who served as Chief of Cabinet for the Lomas de Zamora district. He gained notoriety when videos of his luxurious lifestyle went viral, sparking public outrage in a country facing severe economic difficulties.
Luxury trip cost (Marbella, Spain)
Additional expenses in dollars
International travels by Insaurralde (over USD 71,000)
The investigation gained momentum after videos surfaced showing Jésica Cirio surrounded by bags, suitcases, and boxes full of US dollars at what appears to be Insaurralde's residence in Fincas de San Vicente, an exclusive gated community. The footage, which went viral across Argentine media, reportedly dates from 2023 and was published by newspaper La Nación.
Prosecutors argue that Martín Insaurralde's declared assets cannot be justified by his public servant salary. Argentina has strict regulations about public officials' wealth declarations, particularly given the country's ongoing economic crisis with inflation exceeding 200% in recent years.
| Asset Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Real Estate | Two lots in Fincas de San Vicente with house over 840 m² and pool |
| Urban Property | One property in Lomas de Zamora |
| Vehicles | Two high-end automobiles |
| Bank Account | Over 8.6 million pesos (2011-2021 period) |
| International Travel | 75 trips worth over USD 71,000 (only one was official) |
Cirio's ex-husband is under investigation at the Comodoro Py federal courthouse for alleged corruption related to SIRA (Integral Asset Recovery System) and access to official US dollars during Argentina's strict currency controls (known locally as cepo cambiario).
He is currently detained for allegedly planting drugs and a weapon on his former business partner, Francisco Hauque, in a staged police operation. He serves house arrest at his Banfield residence.
