The judicial investigation into Martín Insaurralde, the former mayor of Lomas de Zamora (a major district in Greater Buenos Aires), has taken a dramatic turn. According to reports by La Nación, a key witness has testified to personally transporting US dollars from the law office of Elías Piccirillo to the private residence of Martín Migues. This testimony strengthens the case regarding alleged extortion and money laundering operations involving high-profile political figures.
The case, overseen by Federal Judge Ariel Lijo, initially gained public attention in September 2023 following the leak of controversial videos involving model Sofía Clerici on a yacht. Since then, the scope has widened significantly.
