Milei and Bolsonaro to Hold Historic Summit in Buenos Aires for the Isaac Accords

24/06/2026 21:34 - Internacionales

A Historic Event for Latin America and Israel

The Israel Allies Foundation (IAF), in collaboration with American Friends of Isaac Accords (AFOIA), will hold the Latin America Caucus Presidents Conference from June 28-30, 2026 in Buenos Aires. This high-level gathering will bring together presidents of Israel Allies Parliamentary Caucuses from across Latin America, along with prominent legislators, political allies, ambassadors, and religious leaders.

Key speakers expected at the event include Argentine President Javier Milei, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, and Brazilian presidential candidate Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, giving the event unprecedented geopolitical significance.

What Are the Isaac Accords?

The Isaac Accords are an innovative initiative inspired by the success of the Abraham Accords (which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations). They offer a practical framework to strengthen economic cooperation, technological innovation, security collaboration, and shared prosperity between Israel and Latin America.

Guided by shared Judeo-Christian values, this initiative represents a transformative opportunity to build stronger alliances and promote regional stability through faith-based diplomacy.

For context: The Abraham Accords were signed in 2020 and marked a historic breakthrough in Israel-Arab relations, with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan normalizing ties with Israel.

Conference Objectives

  • 1. Expand the Isaac Accords to new Latin American countries.
  • 2. Promote the relocation of embassies to Jerusalem as Israel's indivisible capital.
  • 3. Adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism in more countries.
  • 4. Strengthen legislative responses against terrorism and extremism.

Key Voices at the Event

Congresswoman Sabrina Ajmechet

Co-President of the Israel Allies Caucus in Argentina

"Argentina is a steadfast ally of the State of Israel at this crucial moment, and our two nations share fundamental values such as democracy, freedom, and pluralism. It is an honor to welcome to Buenos Aires parliamentarians committed to defending the values of the Western world."

Josh Reinstein

President of the Israel Allies Foundation

"This conference marks a decisive moment. We call upon brave parliamentarians from across the region to fully embrace the Isaac Accords and take the historic step of relocating their countries' embassies to Jerusalem."

Who Are the Key Players?

Javier Milei is Argentina's president since December 2023. A libertarian economist known for his eccentric style and radical economic reforms, he has positioned Argentina as one of Israel's strongest allies in Latin America. His decision to move Argentina's embassy to Jerusalem made Argentina one of the few countries worldwide with this historic decision.

Flavio Bolsonaro is a Brazilian senator and presidential candidate, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022). He represents an alternative to the government of Lula da Silva and is part of the so-called "Shield of the Americas" — an alliance of regional leaders aligned with Trump's policies, including Milei (Argentina), Bukele (El Salvador), Noboa (Ecuador), Peña (Paraguay), and Kast (Chile).

Why Jerusalem matters: Most countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv due to the disputed status of Jerusalem. Moving an embassy to Jerusalem is seen as recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the city, a highly symbolic diplomatic move that few nations have made.
