The French national team confirmed their title credentials with a commanding performance against Sweden in the Round of 32. With an inspired Kylian Mbappé scoring twice and excellent collective play, France sealed their passage to the Round of 16 where they will meet Paraguay.
France came out determined from the first minute at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The French squad, which arrived with a perfect record in the group stage (3 wins, 10 goals scored and only 2 conceded), maintained their overwhelming rhythm.
Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring with a classy finish, showing why he's considered one of the best players in the world. The Real Madrid forward took advantage of a masterful pass from Michael Olise to break through the Swedish defense.
In the second half, Bradley Barcola extended the lead, and Mbappé closed the account with his second personal goal after another brilliant play by Olise that unraveled the Swedish defense.
