Tomás Fonzi and the Intimacy Behind the Screen

The renowned Argentine actor Tomás Fonzi visited the interview cycle Casino Deluxe, hosted by Emilia Attias, where he opened his heart and reviewed the most important milestones of his over 25 years of career. With unusual frankness, the artist spoke about fame, his personal life, and his particular vision of love.

The Leading Man Label and His Beginnings on Television

Fonzi, who began his career in the late 1990s with the successful youth soap opera Verano del 98 (Summer of 98), confessed that he never felt comfortable with the label assigned by the public. The truth is that I never felt like a leading man. It flatters me when they say it, but I feel like I'm sneaking into a slot that isn't mine, stated the actor, who also shone in cinema with films like Nueve Reinas (Nine Queens), Una noche con Sabrina Love (A Night with Sabrina Love), and Kamchatka.

Regarding his rise to fame, he acknowledged that television paved the way for him: If it hadn't been for TV and people knowing me, I would have struggled more. However, his thirst for learning led him to train professionally, alternating between film projects, independent theater, and fiction.

A Love Story with Four Reconciliations

On the romantic front, Fonzi revealed surprising details about his love life. The actor shared that he has known his partner for 25 years, and they have had four reconciliations over time. Currently, they are in a stage of 18 uninterrupted years together.

The actor reflected on mandates and monogamy, noting that traditional structure often stems from fear. She is still a mystery to me in a lot of aspects. That magnetism, that looking each other in the face and feeling like we've known each other our whole lives... the skin, obviously, the sexual attraction, he described regarding the bond that keeps them together.

Anecdotes of Fame and His Present in Theater

During the chat, the actor recalled a curious experience with a fan in his youth, when he lived in Adrogué (a neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires). She showed up at my door. She says to me: 'You asked me to come.' And then came the phrase that stuck with me forever: 'Don't do to me what Luis Miguel did to me', he recounted amid laughter, highlighting the devotion of his followers during the fan club era.

Currently, Fonzi is going through a great moment on stage. He is part of the cast of the comedy Una Navidad de Mierda (A Shitty Christmas), which has been running for over a year at the Teatro Premier on Corrientes Street. The play, with performances from Thursday to Sunday, is directed by Peto Menahem and Verónica Llinás, and produced by Gustavo Yankelevich.
