However, US officials told CNN that they expect Tehran to issue a public statement in the coming days confirming the opening of the navigable route. Traffic has been reduced to about 15 to 22 commercial vessels in the last 24 hours (normally 110), but the fact that ships are still transiting demonstrates that the route remains operational.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed on July 10, 2026 that the ceasefire has ended, but left an encouraging message by assuring that talks with Tehran will continue.
