Entre Ríos: AGMER's Warning and State Negotiations on Hold

In Argentina, paritarias (joint wage negotiation councils between unions, government, and employers) are crucial for setting salaries. In the province of Entre Ríos, located in the country's Mesopotamia region, the debate over salary negotiations is intensifying. According to the AGMER teachers' union (Asociación Gremial del Magisterio de Entre Ríos), the normal resumption of classes after the winter break is in danger due to a lack of salary responses and the rejection of a pension reform project promoted by the provincial government.

AGMER's assembly decided to deepen its demands, questioning the fact that the provincial Board of Education (CGE) has frozen labor conditions negotiations. Furthermore, they called for a mobilization to the Government House on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 as part of a strike defined by a multi-union coalition.

At the same time, the government of Entre Ríos and state employee unions (UPCN and ATE) are scheduled to resume wage talks on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Secretariat of Labor. The official proposal under review includes a 3% increase for July and another 3% for September, plus the maintenance of the non-remunerative fixed sum agreed upon in May.

San Juan: Agreement with UDAP and AMET, but UDA Rejects

In the province of San Juan, located in the Cuyo region famous for its wine production, the situation is different. After a long day at the Civic Center, the government reached an agreement with the majority unions UDAP and AMET, which accepted the proposal for the second half of the year. However, UDA (Union of Teaching and Argentine Workers) rejected the offer after a consultation where 99.08% of its members voted against it, considering it insufficient against the high cost of living and inflation.
