06/07/2026 04:00 - Actualidad

The Unbreakable Spirit of the Venezuelan People

According to an official report by VTV Canal 8 (Venezuela's state television network) published on June 27, 2026, the Venezuelan people have proven that they never surrender in the face of adversity. Through a photo gallery shared on social media, the state broadcaster highlighted the courage and determination flowing through the veins of the residents of La Guaira (a coastal state near the capital, Caracas), one of the areas most devastated by the earthquakes on June 24, 2026.

The earthquakes, registering massive magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, caused significant destruction. The publication emphasizes the tireless work of forest firefighters, park rangers, and volunteer brigades on the ground. Alongside international rescue teams, they continue to search for signs of life among the rubble of the 190 structures that collapsed in the region.

Miracles Beneath the Rubble

The joint efforts have yielded hopeful results. The official balance as of July 5, 2026, confirms 3,342 fatalities and 16,740 injuries. However, amidst the tragedy, extraordinary stories of survival have emerged, renewing hope for the nation.

Stephanie Villegas

Rescued alive after spending 10 hours trapped under the debris in La Guaira. She suffered fractures in her leg and arm but is currently out of danger and recovering.

Hernán Gil (43 years old)

A true miracle of life. He was successfully rescued after being trapped for an astonishing 114 hours following the earthquake.

International Solidarity in Action

The tragedy has mobilized the global community, with 30 countries sending a total of 3,681 rescue specialists. Argentina has been one of the most prominent contributors, sending 16 tons of humanitarian aid aboard a C-130 Hercules aircraft, accompanied by over 100 doctors and specialists.

Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) brigades with canine units (search dogs) from the Argentine provinces of Córdoba and Santa Fe have been fundamental in the operations. Additionally, a flight organized by the NGO Solidaire, piloted by Enrique Piñeyro, arrived carrying 8 tons of donations collected by the Argentine Red Cross.
