The Government of Santa Fe, one of Argentina's most prominent provinces, presented a new wage adjustment offer on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, aimed at healthcare professionals. The negotiation meeting, led by the Minister of Labor, Roald Báscolo, and the Minister of Health, Silvia Ciancio, included representatives from the AMRA and Siprus unions.
This proposal is designed not only to keep up with Argentina's inflation but also to recover lost purchasing power, establishing Santa Fe as a province with highly competitive collective bargaining agreements.
The wage scheme outlines monthly increases between July and December 2026, with guaranteed minimum sums reaching up to $180,000 ARS (Argentine Pesos) by the end of the year. The accumulated adjustment represents an annual increase of between 41% and 45% for workers in the sector.

Additionally, the non-bonus remunerative supplement for Professional Grade was raised to 10% starting July 1st, addressing a historical demand from the sector. The allowance for clothing accessories and professional updating materials was set at $62,117 ARS for workers under Law No. 9.282.
Minister of Health Silvia Ciancio celebrated the consensus, stating that Santa Fe is setting an absolutely groundbreaking standard in healthcare bargaining. Meanwhile, Secretary of Health Administration Guillermo Álvarez noted that this is the best possible offer, estimating that a new employee working 24-hour shifts will see an improvement of nearly 45% in 2026.
From the AMRA union, representative Sandra Barbieri evaluated the proposal positively: 'They made an effort to match the inflation process. The differential achieved for healthcare professionals was satisfactory.'
Within a broader bargaining context, the situation for teachers remains more tense. According to Uno Santa Fe, all four factions of the Amsafé La Capital teachers' union rejected the government's wage offer for the second half of the year.
The alternatives, which will be voted on by union members, range from weekly protest days to a 48-hour strike on July 28 and 29. The final decision on whether strike measures will be taken will be announced this Friday at the Provincial Assembly.
