On Friday, July 11, 2026, in the Aeroclub neighborhood of Campo Grande, Misiones, an episode occurred that shocked the community but, thanks to a family's quick action, ended without major physical consequences for the victim. A 7-year-old girl was intercepted by a 17-year-old teenager while walking to her grandmother's kiosk, located one block from her house.
According to the girl's mother, Micaela G., speaking to local media, it was the first time the little girl, identified by her initials as D., went out alone. They usually go in pairs or all four together to my mother's house, which has a kiosk. On Friday they were going to get some pastries. I sent the oldest with her, but she stayed behind and the other one went alone, the woman explained.
Security cameras recorded the moment the teenager intercepted the girl. After greeting her and walking a few meters with her, he is seen returning carrying the girl in his arms and entering a weed-filled lot, where a struggle began.
The attacker threatened the girl with a knife and covered her mouth, warning her that if she screamed he would hurt her. However, D. fought the whole time and managed to scream as loud as she could for help. She saw the knife and the guy told her that if she screamed he would stab her. Besides, he covered her mouth, but she still didn't stay still, her mother highlighted with pride.
Micaela heard a muffled scream and immediately alerted her husband. At first, they thought some stray dogs had scared the girl, but upon hearing a second scream, the father ran towards the grasslands. His arrival was decisive: the attacker, noticing his presence, dropped the girl and escaped.
The teenager was detained hours later thanks to the father's report and the circulation of security footage. He was placed at the disposal of the Justice system and transferred to the Model Center for Assistance and Monitoring of Children and Adolescents (Cemoas) in Oberá. The case was labeled as simple sexual abuse with gravely outrageous aggravation due to the use of a weapon by the Correctional and Juvenile Court of Oberá.
Although the episode left emotional scars on the little girl, the family remains united to overcome it. She doesn't want to leave the house and gets desperate if her dad is far away, Micaela recounted, highlighting the constant support. With the start of winter break in Misiones this Monday, the family found a respite to help D. navigate the situation in the safety of their home.
