Audiovisual consumption seems to have changed forever with the arrival of streaming platforms. Along with the possibility of watching series and movies at any time, a new jargon would also have arrived that can sometimes be confusing. To keep you up to date, we have put together a small dictionary with the most used terms.
Often adapted into Spanish as bingear, it comes from the English term binge-watching. It means watching multiple episodes of the same series consecutively in a single session. It is the favorite activity for rainy weekends or relaxing nights.
Literally, a cliff hanger. It is that episode or season finale that leaves you with maximum intrigue, right at the most tense moment of the story. Its objective is to ensure that you will return to watch the next episode.
It occurs when characters from one series or movie appear in a different story, usually within the same narrative universe. It is an excellent resource to expand plots and surprise fans.
A short and mysterious preview. Unlike a full trailer, the teaser would not reveal too much about the plot, but would only seek to generate expectations for the official release.
These terms, which would previously belong only to the Hollywood industry, today would be part of our daily conversations. According to the original article by Clarin, this jargon would no longer leave anyone out, but would integrate everyone into the new era of entertainment.
