Kyiv Under Fire: A New Massive Russian Offensive

In the early hours of this Monday, Russia reportedly launched a new large-scale offensive against the Ukrainian capital, utilizing a combination of ballistic missiles and drones that triggered over a dozen explosions across various parts of the city.

According to reports by La Voz, the attack took place just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned about an imminent massive bombardment targeting Kyiv. The Kyiv military administration, led by Timur Tkachenko, confirmed that the enemy attacked with ballistic missiles, immediately activating air defense systems.

The city's Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, urged the population to remain in shelters while detonations echoed through the Ukrainian capital, demonstrating the resilience and preparedness of civilians facing these onslaughts.

Impact on Residential Areas

Material damage reported is significant, but defense systems managed to mitigate part of the attack. In the Podilskyi district, a missile directly struck a residential building, partially destroying the seventh, eighth, and ninth floors. Images and videos circulated on social media show the collapse of part of the building's facade.

Additionally, debris fall caused damage in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts. Authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage and the possibility of civilian casualties.

Ukrainian Response in Crimea

Almost simultaneously, the city of Sevastopol, located on the Crimean peninsula annexed by Moscow, suffered a total blackout. According to the Kremlin-appointed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, a Ukrainian attack on local energy infrastructure left the city temporarily without power, marking a strategic blow to the region.
